Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument to Host Night Sky Program, Friday October 20 On Friday, October 20, Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument will host a night sky program for the public. The program will feature a 30-minute indoor presentation followed by outdoor laser-guided constellation tour and telescope observations (weather permitting).
The program will be held at the Florissant Fossil Beds Visitor Center from 7:30 PM – 10:00 PM.
Please note that the telescope viewing is weather-dependent, and takes place only if clear. Dress warmly in layers. Bring binoculars or a flashlight if you wish (red-filtered lights only please). Call ahead at (719) 748 – 3253 for local weather conditions.
Members of the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society will be on hand to share their love of the night sky and provide telescope viewing of the moon, star clusters, nebulae, and other celestial wonders.
