Ten-year-old Gabrielle “Gabby” Linden made the find on May 20 while working with other 4th graders at Academy International Elementary School, looking through shale from the Florissant fossil Quarry.    One of Gabby’s  pieces turned out to contain a fossilized bird from the Eocene epoch, which dates back 34 million years.
